Made in Romania with very fine workmanship. Beautiful maple back, sides, and neck, Carpathian spruce top. Modern setup, with a 41" string length, D neck, and correct overstand.  Comes with high quality Rubner single plate tuners. Made in Germany, this well-built instrument features a maple/spruce/ebony construction with a beautifully flamed maple finish and a masterfully inlaid walnut border. Its unique 5.5" rib depth marks it as a rare 'pancake' bass, made only between 1935 and 1955. Known for their projection, this bass delivers excellent sound. Recent repairs addressed a long crack, and repair photos are available. It's set up with a new adjustable Despiau bridge, endpin, and Obligato strings,.

A beautiful 150+ year-old bass that was restored in 2017.  The work included: Converting the bass from 3 to 4 strings, replacing the horizontal back bracing with an 'inverted Y' design, repairing a couple of long rib cracks, and refurbishing the original tuners.  The bass is now in remarkably good condition for it's age.  Photos of all repair work are available.  Setup with a new adjustable bridge, endpin, and Eva Pirazzi strings.  Ebony fingerboard,  42" string length, 'D' neck.
